sci-fi anime series recommendations

Postby reanimator on Sat Oct 04, 2008 10:39 pm

When i finnished watching all my favourite sci-fi shows, i needed to find a new genre. I found sci-fi anime. Its not fairytales for children or stupid series for little girls as i thought. Although it was dificult to find the right animes for myself. Thats when i realized i could build a website for people like me, trying to find the right sci-fi anime. So far there are 10 series which i strongly recommend, can anyone suggest another series?

Good old classic is Ghost in teh Shell movie + Ghost in teh Shell - Stand Alone Complex + Ghost in the Shell - 2nd Gig - There is in fact much more Ghost n the Shell stuff but these are my favs... once you get started you may not stop.

This is a very good show imo.

Also if you like classics Then Captian Harlock and Robotech still rule.. animation is a little old but the shows themselves are very good.

If you like Robotech you may want to move into the original jap version Macross... there is a load of Macross stuff all the way from the early 80s to now

Also you may want to check out GUNDAM.. again this gose from 70s all the way to now.. so there is tons of stuff to look through.

Try having a browse of http://anidb.net (anime database) it has a great index of all things animae and i you register you get acess to ed2K links for all of it.. simply search by catagories.. though this will also list all films and OVAs and the like.

<------ Edit

Oh if you want a really good one that is a bit out of left field try out FLFC. It is by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame) It is a very very good show.. but like i said a little strange.

(ps - should prob move this thread into scifi fanatic cabal section)

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS chronicles the adventures of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Ahsoka Tano and other favorite STAR WARS characters as they struggle against the dark side during the divisive, action-packed Clone Wars. Each week, a new story in the galaxy-changing Clone Wars comes to center stage, brought to the screen by supervising director Dave Filoni and executive producer George Lucas. Dwindling numbers of Jedi fight to maintain freedom and restore peace to the galaxy, using their army of genetically engineered clones against the seemingly never-ending droid army. The terrible conflict grows wider as our heroes are swept into the turmoil of war, while the evil Count Dooku, his assassin Asajj Ventress, their master Darth Sidious, the mechanical General Grievous and a rogue's gallery of never-before-seen villains scheme to defeat them.
