Okay I've been coding/phping/htmling all afternoon to iron out some things I wasn't happy with.
Firstly:
Regarding the Solaris theme. I was just totally pissed to such a degree about the stretching problem. So I analysed the code for a long time (whilst sorting some other little dealies out), and I've managed to seperate the header and the main body, so now no matter how destorted or twisted and evil your topics are, the top will/should be untouched and be in the correct proportions, but the main body will stretch (@jynks... I'm looking at you and you bloody long ed2k links ). This means pictures and links shouldn't mess up the layout. The drawback is that rather beautiful over laying table header had to go I'm afraid. But a small price to pay I'd say. I just need to dump the code that resizes images now
Secondly:
You may notice a bit of text up at the top that wasn't there before, "Board Style". I have now enabled the option to change theme easily without going into your profile (hooray) by installing a mod I found, and this will also be good for unregistered users mostly. I'm aware this site is bandwidth intensive, so now, say if you are navigating at a place with a crap connection or whatever, you can simply change the style with no effort, or without even loggin in.
Thirdly:
I've been busy modifying a new theme, called Galaxian (or rather modified from a theme called galaxian). Its a nice theme I thought, and I whipped up a quick logo and modified the layout quite a bit (as well as installed all the mods we have here).
I think that some logos (anyone good at drawing / CGI?) would be neat, at the moment they are just plain text. Or on galaxian I bunged an astranaut on (was going to make a emule logo space man, but don't have the time right now).

Next task is to assign rank images (to give a vague indication of how long people have been here), and to add some really neat smilies I found
Comments/suggestions/praise/death threats/criticisms welcome (to varying degrees )
